The Return:That Movie Is A Return And A Comeback

The first step in the movie journey of Andrei Jagintsev, now one of the most popular Russian filmmakers, is called 'The Return'. The importance of this film, which started its debut as a producer, is different from all other films. First, the sensitive plot, the picturesque location on the secluded island's blue waters. In addition, it contains fascinating depictions of the relationships of three people of different ages and the subtle bonds of the relationship. The story is written by Vladimir Moiseenko and Alexander Novotsky. The story of their return, the return of this story!

The Venice Film Festival Golden Lion-winning drama fiction genre film will not find any tension. You can't see the alluring twist that turns into two right angles. Rather, its story continues to move forward in its own way, keeping pace with the situation. There is no attempt to impose unreasonable force. No incredible exaggeration. Perhaps this is where the true beauty of any story lies. There are, of course, little surprises in the beginning. The film is named after the surprise 'return'.

After 12 years, the father returned to his wife and two children. We don't know where he was for so long, why he came back after so many years and where he came from. Thus a strong aspect of the story that arouses curiosity towards the unknown can be said. Which dragged the movie to the very end. Two brothers of opposite temperament and behavior are important characters in this film. Monomalinya Andrei and Evan's daily routine. Evan is young, a little short in stature, and very stubborn. Andrei, on the other hand, has just begun to mature little by little after puberty. However, his natural behavior is to annoy his younger brother. For example, in the whole film, he is often addressed as 'shorty' and 'timid'. Evan is unnecessarily irritable with all these things.

I said at the beginning that this father character is a great curiosity stimulus. His demeanor also embarrassed viewers like Andrei and Evan. In fact, even a little bit of mystery is formed. But whether that mystery will be unveiled or not will never matter. Rather the three-dimensional relationship takes precedence. The father man is surprised to see the boys return. Andrei is positive about such a return, Evan is negative. This early conception of theirs reinforces the depth of the story and reinforces the situation of the story. But one thing in common - both of them are very afraid of their father. At one point in the movie, the father wants to go somewhere with the boys for a while. To spend some fun time together. If the mother gives permission, they also agree to be traveling companions. The producer did not have any special conversation between father and mother. As a result, the mother's feelings are not captured on the lens.

Throughout the rest of the film, the three travel scenes and the unfolding of the mixed nature of the father-son relationship. Andrei Jagintsev's movie is also a short story. The moment when the three of them share, where the father is in the omnipotent role. In spite of the harshness of the father, the father has shown a longing to hear the call. Andrei's face shows the joy of getting his father back and the long-standing resentment and resentment towards the irresponsible father in Evan's eyes. It is true that from time to time the father's harshness has exceeded the level, but it did not seem meaningless.

Intelligence captures the moment in the film. Sometimes in dialogue, sometimes again in the soft-spoken conversation of two brothers who do not sleep in the dark with the lights off. Similarly, the regret of releasing a fish caught from the sea or the smile of success on a bloody face is a living example of this. Forcing food plates to be cleaned, falling from observation towers, or being hit by rocks in the middle of the ocean represent all the great visuals of this movie. Music and sound effects also have a moderate and sophisticated identity. The cinematography is quite stable and gives a satisfying sluggishness to the pace of the film over time, no doubt inviting every scene to enjoy. In the case of acting, except for these three main characters, the rest of the characters are not given any space, but it does not become helpless in the story. Rather, it has become easier to integrate with these three characters in the screen time. Moreover, the fluency of the dialogue and the depth of the relationship have provided fuel as the main driving force throughout the story.

In his film, the producer portrays the feeling of family relationship as a travel experience from a different perspective. The overall treatment shown by the producer is fancy for the viewers. The Return, released in 2003, has undoubtedly become one of the most important films in the history of Russian cinema. At the same time the producer's movie journey has become more smooth, smooth, and extended.

The movie starts on Sunday. And the last one comes on Saturday with the return of Andrei and Evan. The idea of projecting a still image of the whole journey in the last sequence is striking. The duality of the return as well as the important seven days of their lives have really fascinated me as a visitor.
